520			_aRubberwood (Hevea brasiliensis) has gained importance for its extensive use as timber, but its potential use has been hampered due to its high susceptibility to fungi, termites and borers. It has to be treated with suitable wood preservatives for its optimum utility. An attempt has been made to evaluate efficacy of commercially available oil based wood preservative (wood guard) against termite and fungi. It was observed the treated wood has shown considerable resistance to decay fungi as well as termites.
