520 _aLaminated Veneer Lumber(LVL) made from plantation grown rubber(Hevea brasiliensis) wood was tested for strength and other properties following different standards. Results indicate that LVL of rubber wood can be compared with teak in many properties and also passed adhesion of piles and resistance to delamination tests. LVL was found to have strength properties equivalent to that of gamari (Gmelina arborea), poon (Calophyllum elatum), lakooch (Artocarpus lakoocha), and benteak (Lagerstroemia lanceolata) which are used as door and window frames, flooring and transpost vehicles. Further it was resistant against wood rot fungi and comes under Resistant class.
