520			_aThe isolates causing red root disease of Hevea brasiliensis was collected from Hainan Island. According to their morphological characteristics, all the isolates were identified as Ganoderma pseudoferreum (wakef.) Over.et steinm, which was the same as the one reported before. However, isolates corresponding to different locations varied in morphology and microstructure, such as basidiocarp, basidiospore characteristic and tube diaphragm, aggressiveness and virulence, response to Tridemorph, growth rate and germination ability of basidiospore. In the light of these differences, these isolates were divided into two types, of which isolate J01 was thought to be a variety of Ganoderma pseudoferreum (wakef.) Over.et steinm.
