520 _aThe present study was undertaken in the 1985 Clonal Evaluation Trial planted at a distance of 22 ft x 11 ft at the Ganolgre research farm under the Rubber Research Institute of India, Region al Research Station, Tura, Meghalaya, which is situated at an altitude of about 410 m above mean sea level and the corresponding latitudes and longitudes are 25o 34.578N and 90o 14.141 E respectively. Ten clones were included under the study. Three trees per clone were selected randomly for the study and recording of the individual parameters of defoliation, refoliation, maturity of new flushes, date of onset of flowering, fruiting, maturity of the fruits and germination testing for the seeds of the individual clones. All the parameters were recorded separately at weekly intervals from December to September months continuously by visual observation during 2011-2012, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15, respectively. The weekly data showed that the wintering characters were more influenced with the prevailing climatic conditions of a region rather than the clonal characteristics. The clones included under the study showed the varying trends of wintering, refoliation, maturity of new flushes, flowering and fruit maturity characteristics over the years. On an average the RRII clones were the first to show the symptons of wintering followed by RRIM clones and GL 1 and GT 1 clones were the last first to show the symptoms of wintering followed by RRIM clones and GL 1 and GT 1 clones were the last to intiate the wintering and other related characteristics. PB clones moderately shown these characteristics. PB clones moderately shown these characteristics.
