520 _aThis technique involves the immersion of green rubber wood in the preservation fluid(borax, boric acid and Sodium pentachlorophenate {NaPCP} in water) for a required time and the close stacking of the wood without air contact for 2-3 weeks. This is then air dried and used for end uses which includes only for indoor structures. A 10;Boric acid equivalent (BAE) solution with 0.5;NaPCP can be prepared by dissolving 5 kg boric acid, 7.5 kg borax and 0.5 kg NaPCP in 100 L of water. The duration of immersing the wood depends on the thickness of wood and the concentration of the preservation fluid which can be calculated using the following formulae. T = [(3.5 X t)/ C]2 X 60. Where T = Time in minutes, t = thickness of wood in cm and C = concentration in percentage(;) BAE of the preservation fluid.
