(logs of 200 mm diameter and above) and an annual average yield of about 110 cu.m per ha., the availability is about 4.4 million cu.m (logs between 100-200 mm diameter). The Malaysian rubberwood industry consists of static saw mills (106), mobile mills (around 200), plywood mills (133), export oriented furniture manufacturing units (175), mouldings and joinery mills (45), 6 MDF mills, 3 particle board plants and one wood cement board plant, 5 pre-finished 3 layer parquet flooring mills and 2 mills manufacturing laminated veneer lumber. Apart from these there are specific product units manufacturing wooden toys, picture frames, kitchen and other housewares. | ||
