A rapid assay for the incorporation of isopentenyl diphosphate in rubber biosynthesis
Material type:
TextPublication details: Journal of Rubber Research 1998Description: 48-66Subject(s): Summary: A rapid, sensitive assay for comparing relative rates of rubber biosynthesis in vitro is presented. This method is considerably faster than those previously described. Due to its simplicity, the assay is appropriate for monitoring the purification of factors involved in rubber biosynthesis. However it is necessary to be wary of the possible effects of certain ions such as Mg2+, Na+ and phosphates, which at certain concentrations considerably affect the rate of rubber biosynthesis.
