The hydrophobic ONS containing organic connecting bonds is considered very feasible for the production of ONS-NR WMB with high silica yields (>99%). WNR compounds made from WMB show very low rolling resistance and are suitable for the preparation of tread rubber for truck/bus tires because of the high dispersion of silica in WMB due to mixing with NR latex in liquid phase, the suppression of silica aggregation by incorporated organic networks, and the entanglement of rubber chains with the connecting bonds of ONS.
