Polypropylene/zinc oxide nanocomposite fibers: Morphology and thermal analysis
Material type:
TextPublication details: Journal of Polymer Materials 2013Description: 79-89Subject(s): Summary: Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticle were prepared from zinc chloride and sodium hydroxide in chitosan medium. Polypropylene (PP) /ZnO composites were prepared by melt mixing method. It was then spun in to fibers by melt spinning and subsequent drawing. Mechanical properties of the PP fiber were improved by the addition of ZnO nanoparticles. Thermogravimetric analysis showed significant improvement in thermal stability of PP fiber.
