Introduction and application of IAN873- A cold resistant and high yielding rubber clone spread on medium scale

In the productive clone trial plots in the three state farms in Gaozhou, Guangdone and in the advanced clone trial plot in the South Subtropical Crop Research Institute (SSCRI), the dry rubber yields per tree and per hectare of IAN873 in nine tapping years after opening of the rubber tree are obviously higher than those of the check clone GT1, the increment of the dry rubber yield per tree is 30;-70;, and the increment of the dry rubber yield per hectare reaches 30;-80;, its dry rubber content is similar to that of the check clone GT1, the properties of the stem girth and cold resistance of the IAN873 before and after opening of the tree are significantly better than thsoe of the check clone GT1, and its powdery mildew and Anthracnose resistance is stronger, its wind resistance is similar to that of the check clone GT1. Hence, IAN873 is a appreciable cold-resistant and high-yielding variety with excellent comprehensive properties and is fit for planting in large scale in mild-wind and mild-cold area and in mild-wind and medium-cold area (except on the northward contoured land).
