Industrial wood-use in Kerala- The role of rubber wood

Rubber wood is becoming popular in the context of a diminishing supply of conventional timber and a substantial quantity is used by industries such as packing cases, plywood, etc. A study has been conducted to estimate the wood consumption by the industrial sector in Kerala. In this paper, the industrial wood-use pattern and the contribution of rubber wood to total industrial wood consumption is presented and discussed.
