Investigation on rubber seed oil

By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextSubject(s): Summary: Oil from locally available rubber seeds in Bangladesh has been isolated and its physical and chemical characteristics determined. The fatty acids of the rubber seed oil can be seperated into different fractions of various fatty acids content by the method of urea complex formation. Addition of success quantities of urea to the mixture of fatty acids, give fractions with predominance in a particular type of fatty acid. The fatty acids thus seperated consist of both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. About 85;of the fatty acids are unsaturated abd the major component is oleic acid followed by linoleic acid. Rubber seed oil can be a source of extraction of oleic acid for industrial use.
