The paper presents the structure and components of different types of sawmills, sawing systems and milling operations followed in rubber wood processing. Different saw mills such as Gang saw system, mobile sawing system, mobile circular saw system etc. are discussed. Statistical analysis on the recovery of sawn timber from different clones of different diameter and age group is included and special emphasis also given to the natural defects of rubber wood like knots, warping and tapping panel marks etc. which are influencing the recovery of sawn timber. The procedure of peeling of rubber wood logs which include process like debarking and bucking, log charging, peeling, veneer processing and the problems in peeling of logs is also presented in this paper.
