Material type:
TextPublication details: 156th ACS Rubber Division Meeting 1999. Conference preprints, Orlando 21st to 23rd Sep 1999. 1999Subject(s): Online resources: Summary: In response to the latex protein allergy issue, a new grade of NR latex called NC 360 has been developed. The properties of NC 360 are compared to standard NR latex. It is demonstrated that NC 360 can bee successfully used to make gloves in a commercial environment. This new grade of latex has very low extractable protein levels. It also has sufficient colloidal properties to meet ASTM specifications. This new grade of material is used to produce rubber examination gloves on a standard glove dipping line. The gloves meet the physical requirements of ASTM specifications with minor processing adjustments. The gloves have very low extractable protein content.
