Sinoxylon anale was noted to cause serious economic loss. Treatment of rubber wood with 10;boric acid equivalent (BAE) solution containing 0.5;sodium pentachloride by diffusion by diffusion process to dry salt retention of about 0.4;BAE has been found to give protection against S. anale attack.
