Influence of dynamic cyclic extension on the electrical conductivity of NBR/PVC conductive blends

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Journal of Polymer Materials 1998Description: 403-408Subject(s): Summary: Butadiene acrylonitrile rubber(NBR) was blended with different concentration of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) according to standard techniques. The vulcanized sample was subjected to dynamic cyclic extension with different magnitude of strain amplitude and constant number of strain cycles. The resulting variation of electrical conductivity sigma of the above composites was then studied. It was found that samples containing low concentration of PVC showed a remarkable decrease in sigma up to critical concentration. Furthermore, the variation of and with the number of strain cycles was investigated.
