N2  - Homogeneous rainfall areas conducive for rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) cultivation in Northeast India have been classified within the seven states. The study utilised 139 raingauge stations spread uniformly across the entire region. Annual and monthly rainfall concentrations were studied utilising mean values, interannual variability and diversification. Kriging interpolarity methods were used for characterising the magnitude of observed changes. The regions of Optimal,. Sub-optimal, MOderate and Marginal areas identified comprises of 14.5, 26.9, 46.4 and 12.2;respectively of the total area in the Northeast India
