Sowing in either vermiculite or sand gave the highest germination, viz 61 - 89 and 58 - 90;, respectively. In a second test, seeds were germinated at different constant or varying temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degree C or at ambient temperature, for up to 30 days. Germination was best at 30 to 35 degree and final assessment after 20 days is recommended. In a third test, seeds that were treated with fungicides (captan, benomyl or thiram) or untreated (controls) were stored in perforated plastic bags for up to 5 months before germination assessment. It is concluded from this test that seeds can be stored successfully for up to 5 months without any fungicide treatments UR - IRRDB ER -
