Isozyme electrophoresis has been developed to characterize clone genotypes at an early stage in their growth. This technique has proved particularly effective with a 98;separation capability for the main clones cultivated. As the equipment required is simple and operating costs are relatively low, rubber clone identification using this technique has become routine. A mobile electrophoresis kit or portable laboratory has been devised for direct conformity checks in budwood gardens on plantations. It has been successfully used in C ER -
