N2  - Since 1905, C.gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata] has been described as the casual agent of Colletotrichum leaf disease of Hevea brasiliensis in Sri Lanka and other parts of the world. Of 52 isolates from diseased H. brasiliensis leaves in Sri Lanka, 18 were identified as G. cingulata. The remaining 34 isolates were identified as G. acutatum, and it is suggested that C. acutatum is the main cause of Colletotrichum leaf disease in Sri Lanka
