N2  - 218 soil samples and 107 leaf samples were collected in Xishuangbanna rubber plantation to investigate the soil and leaf nutrient condition and its variation under stimulated tapping system in October to September, 2003. The results indicated that after 5 years applying of stimulating tapping system, the nutrient condition of rubber plantation had been improved on the whole, but the soil O.M content, soil N content and leaf N content had been decreased, Mg in Jinghong Farm and P in Dongfeng Farm were obviously destitute. The deficit of N was a universal phenomenon in rubber plantation in Xishuangbanna; it had become one of the limiting factors to increase rubber yield, so it was advised to apply more N fertilizer in the plantation
