N2  - Ten trees of clone PR 107 and another ten of clone TJIR 1 were studied. From each tree, samples were taken from three heights and various radial locations for fibre measurements. The fibres were short to medium in length, averaging 1.1 mm. The trees of both clones should attain at least 40 cm dbh before being felled for optimum utilization of the fibres. The patterns of variation with increase in height and increase in distances from the pith were discussed
