N2  - Rubber seed oil contains saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. For the investigation of rubber seed oil it is necessary to know the composition of the fatty acids in it. Some methods of analysis of fatty acids are: 1) Based on light absorption after crystallization at low temperature and alkaline isomerization, 2) Distillation of the ester, 3) Determination of thiocyanogen value, iodine value and percentages of saturated fatty acids and of unsaponifiable matter. Thin layer chromatography (TLC) has also been tried. It has proved to be suitable for the qualitative analysis of fatty acids in rubber seed oil, while quantitative analysis has still to be investigated
