Swelling and viscoelastic properties of NR vulcanizates filled with cryogeneically pulverized polyurethane foam particles
Material type:
TextPublication details: Journal of Elastomers and Plastics 1999Description: 37-55Subject(s): Summary: Cryogeneically pulverized polyester polyurethane foam (PU) particles with various particle sizes and moisture contents were introduced as a new filler into natural rubber (NR) vulcanizates. Swelling-deswelling behavior and viscoelastic properties of the PU filled NR vulcanizates were investigated. The results showed that the degree of swelling of the PU filled NR vulcanizates reduced as the reinforcement between the filler and rubber increased. The reinforcement improved as particle size and moisture content of the PU filler were reduced.
