Properties of blends of waste nitrile rubber and plasticized PVC

By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextPublication details: Journal of Polymer Materials 2003Description: 23-29Subject(s): Summary: Waste nitrile rubber was blended with plasticized PVC. The dynamic viscous characterization of the blend was studied. In general, the modulus of elasticity, G, and complex viscosity, n*, increased as amount of rubber content increased while these parameters decreased as amount of plasticizer, dioctyl phthalate (DOP), increased. The composition containing 35;waste rubber showed the highest value of G. Viscous behaviour of blends containing waste or virgin nitrile rubber was similar.
