TextPublication details: Proceedings of IRRDB Conference: NR Industry: Responding to Globalization, 7-8 September 2004, Kunming International Convention & Exhibition Center, China. pp.422-426.Subject(s): Summary: Tapping panel dryness of rubber tree is a complex physiological discorder in the bark widly found in rubber plantations an causes severe yield losses. The mechanism underlying TPD is still unknown and no effective prevention or treatment is found presently. To characterize the molecular mechanism of TPD, we isolatex and characterized genes associated with TPD. Our previous study had found a Myb transcription factor HbMyb1 whose expression is significantly decreased in the barks of TPD trees. We report here the identification and characterization of the genes that regulate HbMyb1. Based on the previous study, we isolated the promoter of HbMyb1 as the bait, and clones a cDNA fragments by year one-hybrid named Hb2,. The Hb2 had two homology in the GENBANK. but not the same as any of them. No information of the function of the homology was known. We deduce that Hb2 may be a new type gene that act as a role not been known presently.
