Over the period from 1980-88, there was a steady and substantial increase in the volume of exports of rubberwood sawn timber from Peninsular Malaysia. While the volume of exports increased from 17500 cu. m in 1980 to 204000 cu.m in 1988, the average price has gone up from 257 ringgit/cu.m in 1980 to 409 rgt./cu.m in 1988.
