The vacuum pressure impregnation technique is more reliable than the diffusion technique. Borax boric acid mixture is effective, to retain the natural colour, while the CCA (Copper-Chrome Arsenic) or CCB (Copper-Chrome Boric acid) combination imparts a greenish colour. Certain guideliness regarding the selection of equipment, seasoning, kiln selection etc are also discussed in this paper.
