Products from rubberwood- An overview
Material type:
TextPublication details: Rubberwood Processing and Utilization, Malaysia, 1994; p173-183 1994Subject(s): Summary: Rubberwood has won acceptance as a high quality timber that can be utilized for a wide range of products. The availability of the raw materials is inexaustible as the rubber plantations are replanted every 25 to 30 years. In Malaysia alone this is estimated to produce an annual yield of about 9 million cu. m of logs. This raw material can thus play an increasingly important role in the development of the timber industry. Although it is being increasingly utilized, conservative estimates indicate that more than one-third of the total supply is still not being used. There is thus a potential for further development and utilization of this resource not only in Malaysia but in other rubber planting countries as well.
