Summary, etc This study examined the shape and structure and sequence of differentiation in the root system of the seed of an illegitimate family of Hevea (GT1 ill.) and of micro-cuttings of seed form this same family. There are 8 types of seed roots. The differentiation sequence in micro-cutting is distinguished by the absence of early secondary root branching. A great deal of variability in morphogenetic capacities was demonstrated between root types, and also between roots of the same type. The criteria for morphological, anatomical and developmental descriptions are closely correlated in both types of material. These results are presented formarly in a dynamic, 3-D mathematical model of root architecture.
