Summary, etc Laminated veneer lumber (LVL), made from rubberwood [Hevea brasiliensis] veneer treated with preservative and bonded with phenol formaldehyde resin, was tested for durability against decay fungi in accelerated laboratory tests. The test fungi were Coriolus versicolor and C. hirsutus (white-rot), and Polyporus meliae and P. palustris (brown-rot). LVL was as susceptible as rubbewood in the initial stages (up to 60 days) but then was more durable (days 60-120).
