Photo-induced discoloration of rubberwood(Hevea brasiliensis) and its control by polyethyleneglycol - Journal of Tropical Forest Products 1999 - 16-Sep

Source Year: 2000

Rubberwood discolours to a yellowisg orange colour on exposure to light over a period of time for the control of this colour change, a coating of 5gm-2 polyethyleneglycol(PEG) was effective in preventing photo-induced discolouration. Coating with larger amounts of PEG produced a wet (darker) appearance which disappeared after 50h of irradiation, PEG application could be a simple and economical procedure for controlling discoloration in rubberwood.
