The Malaysian national car industry (PROTON) started in 1986, and has produced more than 634,400 units. Current production is 120,000 units and it is forecast that this will increase to 150,000 units annually. Each car currently used 18.6kg of rubbers and NR is 23.2;. The ways in which the RRIM assists vendors that maximise NR usage in this industry are discussed.
