Immunogold double labelling technique by electron microscopy was employed to localise the 14 kDa and 24 kDa protein obtained from rubber particle membrane in Hevea latex. These proteins were used to elicit antibodies in rabbits. The two antibodies showed selective labelling on the rubber particles: 14 kDa antibody bound more to the larger rubber particles (>_0.3 mm) whereas the 24 kDa antibody more to the smallerr rubber particles (<_ 0.2 mm). The use of osmium tetroxide to fix rubber particles did not distroy the antigenic sites.
