Wood anatomy of exotics grown in India 1. Hevea brasiliensis Muell Arg (Euphorbiaceae) - Journal of the Timber Development Association(India) 1988 - 18-21

A brief illustrated account of the general features and gross and microscopic structure of the wood of Hevea brasiliensis, based on a study of samples from 25-30 yr old tapped trees from Kerala, and from the Forest Research Institute wood collection. The wood is described as similar to that of Trevia nudiflora in appearance and gross structure, but can be distinguished under the microscope as the latter species has larger inter-vessel pits, thinner rays mostly up to 3-seriate, and no crystals in the parenchyma.
