Constitutive description of green rubber material for forming simulation
Material type:
TextPublication details: Kautschuk Gummi Kunststoffe 2013Description: 32-35Subject(s): Summary: The aim of the authors work is the desciption of rubber forming and production processes. During the manufacturing of rubber based products, the elastomeric material is formed under high pressure and temperature and, subsequently, the rubber product has its required and final features. In this paper, the characterisation and mechanical description of the uncured polymeric material is shown in order to simulate a forming process using the Finite Element Method (FEM). Therefore, extensive material tests have to be conducted and a constitutive description needs to be developed and implemented into a FEM code. Finally, first FEM forming simulations are carried out and the quality of the simulation results has to be validated.
