Preliminary study on alkaline nitrobenzene oxidation of rubberwood meal(Hevea brasiliensis)
Material type:
TextPublication details: Malaysian Forester 1976Description: 73-78Subject(s): Summary: Vanillin, syringaldehyde, acetovanillone and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde were identified in the reaction products of rubber woodmeal oxidized by alkaline nitrobenzene. The low yields of vanillin and syringaldehyde from the rubber woodmeal appear to indicate that the linkages in the rubberwood lignin were more resistant to the alkaline oxidation than other hardwoods.
